Sunrise Yoga is back for 2018! Make the most of the warm summer mornings and join us for FREE yoga in Auckland city. This year's teaching line up is nothing short of superb! Check out the full schedule below. Kicking off the season on January 17th is our dear friend and beloved teacher, Mark Whitwell. Mark share's deep and mindful yoga with compassion and humour. Everyone is welcome and while no experience is needed, Mark's approach has plenty to offer to the seasoned yoga practitioner.

All sessions are Wednesdays 7-8.15am in front of the Cloud on Queen's Wharf starting 17th January for 7 weeks. A few mats are provided but BYO is best. And yes each class is absolutely FREE! Bring a friend and we look forward to seeing you there.

Mark Whitwell

Mark is interested in developing an authentic yoga practice for the individual, based on the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya and his son TKV Desikachar, with whom he enjoyed a relationship for more than twenty years. Mark’s teachings clarify the profound passion and relevance of ancient wisdom to contemporary life.

Mark has taught yoga for over twenty years throughout the US, Asia, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and was the editor and contributor to TKV Desikachar’s book The Heart of Yoga. We are delighted to have this long time friend of WE-AR in NZ to kick off our Sunrise Yoga Series!


 Kylie Rook

A WE-AR conscious collaborator, you only have to glance at Kylie's instagram to see what a powerful and dynamic practitioner she is. Between yoga and dance, Kylie has been teaching for 20+ years with students of all ages, able bodied and those with Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis or various injuries. Her love of the human body has led to a Bachelor of Nursing, study of Yoga Medicine and now a passion for Chinese Medicine and Myofascial release. We look forward to Sunrise Yoga by the ocean with Kylie on January 24th!


Nikki Ralston


A valued friend of WE-AR, we are so happy to have Nikki's friendly face and inspiring practice as part of our line up. Nikki is a natural teacher who has been working with the human body for the last 18 years, her passion for yoga, movement and anatomical understanding shines through and is infectious to others. 

Nikki has devised her own 'Ralston Method' which provides life enhancing practices, her physical asana practice combines the best elements of hatha, vinyasa, precision alignment and mindfulness teachings. Her classes are strong yet grounded, guiding her students to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, giving skilled yet simple cues from her deep understanding of the human body and subtle energies, creates a transformative experience and a practice that lasts a lifetime. Balanced by her delightful sense of humour that encourages students to reclaim the joy within their practice and life.


Morgan and Carlotta (NowHere Yoga)

"NowHere Yoga is a project inspired by many things - by the freedom of expression found in Temporary Autonomous Zones like Burning Man and Nowhere Festivals, away from the layers of conditioning that modern urban cultures bequeath to us. By the return to engage with the natural world, of moving outside the comfortable concrete cocoons we have developed around us to experience more vividly and more truthfully what it means to be a terrestrial life form."

Morgan Palmer Hubbard and Carlotta Amargós are two thirds of NowHere Yoga (predominantly based in Spain). We are so lucky to have these two for a very special partner yoga session on Valentines Day. Come with a buddy or make a new friend and try something new and fun with these two playful instructors!
