w i k i skincare now available at WE'AR
We first had the pleasure of working with Wellington based Wiki Waitai when creating our gift bags at New Zealand Fashion Weekend. Now both Ponsonby and Waiheke stores are carrying her beautiful + natural skincare products in store. We talk to Wiki about her range and the ethos behind the brand.
"I've always been interested in healing and natural medicine but the catalyst and direction for my skincare came from motherhood. I was using an expensive natural oil moisturiser but once Remiro came along it was a luxury I couldn't afford anymore, but a luxury I still wanted! So I did a little research... and then some more. And then a lot more! The Face Oil was born, it took nearly a year to refine and balance the different oil ingredients, but with loads of support from whanau and friends it is now a daily face moisturiser I am very proud of. The Nourishing Face Oil is 100% natural and sensitive."
Driven by the need for a gentle but effective product, Wiki began making baby balms and started to take note of how we all have different skin tones and needs.
"The boys and I have very sensitive skin, this is a huge factor to consider in everything I make. Is it ok for me? Yes. If a kid gets in to it, will it harm them? No. I have done a lot of research but had the added bonus that my mum studied homeopathy and more natural techniques when I was a kid. We grew up on gypsy concoctions to fix ailments, cuts, bumps and hypochondria! My whole ethos is about providing luxury products with effective, active ingredients at affordable prices. All are handcrafted in small batches to maintain freshness. The majority of my ingredients come from NZ or the Pacific, I try to support local companies. Each of the Wiki Skincare products has its own natural aroma, combining holistic and therapeutic methods to effect the mind, body and mood in positive ways. 100% natural ingredients, no nasty's, no secrets. Loads of organics. Facebook and Instagram have been great marketing tools for me. I now have 7 stockists in NZ and 4 in Oz. Whoop!"
We LOVE the earthy scents and luxe feel of Wiki's products, and all the WE'AR crew have been testing out the range at home so we can pass on first hand how beautiful the products really are. Check out the range for yourself, at WE'AR 122 Ponsonby Road Auckland, or 114 Ocean View Road Waiheke Island. Follow @wikiskincare on insta for more info!
